u skin anti ageing vitamin c

I have been using #U skin vitamin C   for about 12 months now and its fair to say that I really like it and I feel my skin is improved, noticably the texture... also my skin does not appear to be as oily ( something I really struggle with ) it is advised that if you have a sensitive skin to use it sparingly , maybe just once every couple of days at first.
It is fair to also say that I have been trying other skin products in the last 12 months also, namely #miscellar water ( see in my previous blogs )

As this is the only type I have tried it would be unfair to say it is better than any other, only to say for me it suits very well.
I will however try other ones just to see how they compare...
It was the first one that I came across on line ...no particular reason for picking it
below is a description of what vitamin C does ...again no particular reason I picked this explanation apart from the fact that it seemed well explained

😊

Vitamin C is an antioxidant that slows the rate of free-radical damage -- free radicals are unstable molecules that damage collagen and cause skin dryness, fine lines and wrinkles. New research shows that ascorbic acid 2-phosphate, a derivative of vitamin C, not only neutralizes free radicals, but also reverses DNA damage [source: University of Leicester].

Vitamin C is a very popular ingredient in skin care products because it is a free-radical fighter and helps produce collagen naturally. This is because the serum fromvitamin C has a higher concentration of L-ascorbic acid.

Placebo effect

So its been a couple of weeks since I stopped taking my vitamins....
Do I feel any different ?  Not really sure is the truthful answer....
My elbow was really painful 3 or 4 days after I stopped!!!

My husband assured me it was all psychological.... ( err thanks for the advice, but it dosnt feel psychological...its feels more physical !!!! ) 😉

Image result for am i missing my vitamins
at the moment it dosnt feel too bad
I did come down with a nasty bug ...and I really felt so ill...
which I suppose I could say was because I hadnt been taking my vitamins and zinc ( good for immune )  And there's more..
my skin looks really crap just now ( no zinc!!... good for skin and hair )
yes I know its only been 2 weeks and I know thats probably not enough of a test

Psychological?    who knows...
is it the placebo effect:
Sometimes a person can have a response to a placebo. The response can be positive or negative. For instance, the person's symptoms may improve. Or the person may have what appears to be side effects from the treatment. These responses are known as the "placebo effect."

So do I start taking them again...I'm thinking yes

old peoples care homes

so yes I am still very shocked at some of the scenes that i saw in my old job!!!
And yes there is a constant reminder with all the media attention at the moment about the state of our social services...
the dire state of our NHS ...
which is having a profound affect on our sick and aged population
( and yes this is in the Uk !!! )
So all the money that our poor old folk ploughed into the system over the last 60/70 and 80 years has already been spent!!!  daylight robbery I'd call it and nobody to answer the crime!!!
which brings me back to my blog.....
Image result for eye openerhow some ( and I know that it is NOT right across the board) of our old folk are living
the care homes that some live in are awful to say the least, smelly, cold, boring ( and I mean by that , no stimulation, ) old people sat there staring in to space, sad, rocking, shouting for help, or just a little conversation... food down there clothes
and believe me this is just the tip of the iceberg...and a very brief description of reality...
And this is just what I witnessed...so so sad
Image result for dont misunderstand me       Dont get me wrong I Know this is not true of all care homes...believe when I say...that i went into some really lovly ones
Tables beautifully laid for lunch.....Hairdressers at the ready...our old folk doing jigsaws and playing games... smiling faces....clean sweet smelling homes....
I am not an expert and would hate to estimate which is more probable in the uk...( but I have a good idea!!!! )
But shouldnt all our old folk be treated to a nice care home with all these luxuries...
And no I dont have the answer..I wish I did....I wish I could just wave the magic wand  Image result for old ladies at lunch cartoon   Image result for old ladies at lunch cartoon  Related image
And every credit to the fantastic staff...because where would our old folk be without them...and most of the staff I met in my job were lovly caring individuals

I live in hope that one day all our care homes will be amazing places for our old folk... they deserve it

Vitamin tablet...break

so under duress I have agreed to give the vitamin tabs a break!!!!

Image result for no vitamin tabs

I have probably been taking some kind of vitamin tablets for the last 5/6 years

  • cod liver oil capsules ( thought thiss may help with joints etc )
  • iron tablets ( cus I was feeling tired all the time and some blood tests showed I was slightly low )
  • multi vitamin ( because I did lol )
  • more recently glaucosamine ( I read it was better for joints, and I have been having a lot of trouble with my left elbow )
my husband reckons they are a waste of money and that was reinforced when a programme came on saying much the same

so we will see...if all my aches and pains come back...I'm killing the husband

And then he will have some aches and pains

long time no blog....body balance

more time.. but weirdly ...no blogs...go figure ????

So this is a review on my body balance class..

And I guess I could blame them for not having time to blog....but...I'd be lying!!!

I do a class twice a week...it is a Les Mills class  https://www.lesmills.com/  ...and I absolutely love them

Yes course I feel exhausted because I do push myself.... but no pain no gain.....and these are the gains....

benefits I feel I get
  • stronger
  • leaner
  • more supple
  • more flexible
  • fitter
  • improved balance
  • better core strength
  • more relaxed
they are suitable for all ages and all fitness levels... as you work to your own level and of course you see improvementsall the time

i have definitley seen improvements especially my flexibility and balance

In the beginning I thought I'll never get better...but I have and I intend to stick at it and get even better

The best I can possibly be...

inevitable..it was not going to last

I think its fair to say that I knew the new job was not going to be for me!!!
Right from day one..I found it very stressful, shocking, heart breaking..
And yes , as the week went on it got marginally better, but it was painfully obvious to see, it was not going to be for me....
I gave it 2 weeks ...and that was enough...more than enough...
Of course I am disappointed in myself , I was sure I could do it...but having no experience of this type of work ...how could I possibly know....went in blind
Image result for head in the sandAnd boy did I get my eyes opened!!!!!
( didnt need to know my destiny!!! )
I definitly prefer to bury my head in the sand

when you just know

So its been 3 days this week at my new job...and this is the end of my 2nd week!!!
to be perfectly honest, I dont know how I lasted this long....
And there's more
Yesterday was my 1st day visiting the patients at home on my own... and yes its fair to say its not my 'cup of tea' (another one of my sayings..... an example of an english idiom... If something is not your cup of tea, you don't like it or you are not interested in it. )
And there's more....according to my boss, yesterday was an easy day!!!!  should get an early finish.... 'errr no'
( depends if you are prepared to go in/out without spending any time with these vunerable people I suppose )
Image result for a smile costs nothingThese dear, mainly old people just want the same as the rest of us...a little bit of company, and compassion, someone to be kind to them and give them a little bit of time, a smile.... this job definitly does not allow for that....
so a visit that should take 15 mins at most ( as suggested by my boss) is taking me over 30 mins...so that dosnt take much calculating to see why I had a late day!!!

so the time has come to make a decision....

  • do I need this job financially/for personal reasons
  • do I need the stress
  • realisitically am I going to get the training that i have been promised..or should i accept the truth that it is too late to train for a new career
  • should I give it it a longer trial
  • am I ever going to enjoy this type of job
  • am I going to regret giving up too soon
  • what am I trying to prove to myelf
  • No time to do the things I love doing..cycling/fitness classes... mainly because Im nakered ( emotionally mostly )
So many decisions... and to top it off I have a really bad head cold..( and no I wouldnt dream of saying Ive got it from one of my lovly patients  Image result for emoji faces wink
