wow..roller coaster of a week...it started with a kiss

It started with a kiss.....well no not really.... it started with a CV
and that was a week ago....
( I saw a nice li'l part time position advertised and quickly sent my cv across) not really expecting a reply
but a li'l later that day  I recieved a call inviting me to an interview with the recruitment agency
  ( yeah thats kind of what I thought...a ploy to get another member on their books )
And the inerview was arranged for the same day!!!   I was in shock
For all intents and purposes it seemed a very positive meeting...staff were all really friendly 
They assured me they would be in touch.. ( i didnt hold my breath )
It was about 3 days after when I got another call from the agency saying they had secured me an interview with the company!!  Yes once again I was in shock...deeper shock!!
She advised me to research the company and prep well ( which I did)
I was the 1st on the list for interview...9am...I arrived at 8.30!!! ( well Id been up since 3am!! )
waited outside for a while ( didnt want to appear over eager!! lol )
Once again the interview went very well ...had a really good rapport with the company receptionist ( which would be the position I would be sharing)
And things just seemed to get better...meeting with PA  seemed very positive ( I didnt want to hope for too much and told myself... 'It was good practice to have lots of interviews... even if I didnt get the job!!'
She said she had interviews all day and also one next week.....
I came out and sighed a big sigh of relief... I did my best and its now in the lap of the Gods
The recruitment agency contacted me to ask how it went   and I assured them I'd done my best...
So yes long weekend .. wandering...doubting...planning..
And as promised I was contacted on the Monday...
Imagine my surprise...shock...amazement...excitement when she told me they wanted to offer me the job..... I couldnt stop thanking the woman from the agency...who assured me how very pleased they were too have me on board  ( well you could of knocked me down with a feather )
I feel very humbled to have the chance at another job at my age (54)
so needless to say lots of prayers offered today ( as always)

miracles do happen...just never give up hope

According to news reports eleven people have been found alive in the rubble of an Italian hotel today, two days after an avalanche tore through the mountain resort near Farindola, Italian firefighters say. 

4 of who are children....

Miracles do happen ...( rescuers believed at first that the chance of survivors were very slim )

Thank the Lord and those brave rescuers....

Never give up hope....

So there is less than a day left of 2016 left......

And we have left a lot of truly beautiful people in 2016...

we cant change what has been....we cant hide what we've seen

(and why would we want to )

because everything is part of our journey, some good some not so.....take with you what you need and leave the rest in 2016

and these are just some of the memories i want to bring with ME

Always be kind..it dosnt cost anything.. to strangers as well as your family ...simple things like kindness..smiles..hugs ..you dont need to be a millionaire to give these wonderful gifts in abundance and it you can be richer beyond belief when you recieve them

Always be grateful....when you wake each new day be grateful...

have fun...smile laugh enjoy the company of friends and family...life is short..enjoy it

So we have reached the last day of 2014

Mini Reunion..very special

So I have a get 2getha with my oldest frend today..



When i use the term Mini i mean in the amount of people who will b at this reunion....just me n you....


 
Like many old dear frends, we  can go for days, months, and yes even years without seeing each other.
Meetin up is always so comfortable....as if we were only together yesterday......
A freind that you can discuss your deepest fears with ( and listen to theirs )
Tell your deepest secrets to ( and know that it will go no further )
Laugh and cry !!!!   together ( and not feel weird )
And know that if it is many years til we next meet, that they will always b there, at the end of the phone, ready to pick up where we left off ....accompanied by some nice refreshments!!!!!

So without doubt that means non stop chat for the entire date....which more often than not can be in excess of 4 hours...so a good suply of Costa or Chardonnay is a must
So its been 12 months since i last saw my old frend.....previously it has been as long as 3/4 years....
Catching up on the last year events and gossip is a must.....
Which always begins with a good old hug.....

And yes although we have obviously both changed in different ways over the last 30 or so years.....we are still undoubtably those same old frends from yesteryear......

Terrorised!!!!

I think they should come with a health warning !!!! 

Its the Weekend....yeahhhh

So after a bit ov a slow start ( watchin Emmerdale + Corrie omnibus in bed )....its 1pm and i've kinda caught up wiv myself.....put in a few loads of washin in, vaccuumed all through, bathrooms ad a quik wipe round! and dishwasher loaded...Yes!!!  

Time for a quik shower and off to the shops wiv hubby...mayb...

Nearly dun...time for a coffee i think....( shud ov got out wen i ad the chance !!!! )

   Its my 2nd eldest son, announcing that him n his wife with the 2 children ( 1 crazy hyper active 2 year old and a sweet excitable 6month old ) r on their way round.......

Now to say that i adore them is an understatement.....but if u r tryin 2 get out,.....mmmmmm

In comes the young fella like a hurricane...' u got gweets Ganma, i ad my ginna ' 

Closely followed by my son, carrying his 6 month old daughter...' u ent goin anywhere r ye Mam ????'

and his newly expectin wife ( 3 months pregnant ) makin up the rear fully laden wiv baby bags n toys n the remainder ov my gransons lunch..( just 2 b clear thats not a new WIFE !!! just a new baby on the way!!!  lmao)

first stop for both son n grandson is more often than not the goody draw....which is then followed by regular intervals every 10 mins for the whole duration ov their stay !!! with several visits to the refrshments cupboard to wash down the treats !!! ( no wonder they r on the roof 24/7 ) 

so within 5 mins of arriving, my once tidy minamalistic lounge, now looks like a bomb site!!! any thoughts of goin shoppin gon 4eva.....

my 6 month old grandaughter is shreiking uncontrollably at her brother who is sprintin from one side ov the lounge 2 the other and leapin over her!!!   I am havin a heart attack! 

'Gook at me Ganma, gook at me baby, gook Gandad' he shouts repeatedly

i try 2 calm him down, but its like tryin 2 stop a runaway truck with a push bike.....no effect!!! wheres the chardonnay!!

this continues for the full 2hrs ( seems longr )that they are here...

crisps n hoola hoops scattered all ova the floor...the baby addin a generous amount of puke for good measure...wet wipes every where!!!!   my once immaculate jet black carpet now lookin very worse for wear!!!!

the baby, with her infectious smile n crystal blue eyes, is passed round like a parcel..shreikin at being the centre of attention....

Cups of tea for every one is the next request....recipe for disaster....n i ent talkin bout the children....my son at nearly 6 feet tall and probably nearly as much broad is one of the most clumsiest individuals i have eva had the pleasure of knowin n lovin !!!

thankfully his mother sed he didnt need it cuz he'd just ad pop n crisp....

so apologisin they have 2 go so soon ( my son smirkin!! ) they start the process of gatherin their belongins 2getha...this cud take a while....then the goodbyes...bless...every one has 2 have kisses..big squeezes..( sometimes 2 or 3 times ) or my granson goes ballistic !!!

And they r gon.....leaving a trail of destruction n chaos in their wake...

oh yes and 2 very drained granparents!!!!!

do not interpet this as moaning or dislike.....this is Sayin it as it is....they are my family...crazy as they are and i luv them dearly and thank the Blessed Lord for each n every one of them every day..........Feelin Blessed

Day 4....Land Ahoy!

So arrived for my early morning coffee in the windjammer ( boys in bed !!!) and yes the view has changed some what...where there was water water everywhere as far as the eye could see... this has  now been replaced  with The Port of Vigo 

 and whats more important is that I now have Signal...yeahhhh

and yes the phone is notifying me of many messages from home, thats scary, several missed calls and messages, my daughter informs me that my daughter-in-law of 9 months has had her baby .....OMG...I have become a granma for the 5th time....since we sailed there is a new addition to our family...Delilah May came into the world safely on 25/08/2014 weighing 6lb 7oz (Thank U Lord )...Mother n baby doing well....so excited and tbh (to be honest) a li'l overcome that I am not their ( cant believe i've been a granma for 2 days already...lol )

       so my coffee is going down nicely as I take in my news from home....lovly views from the 'windjammer' ( this is the main eating area where there is a delicious selection of food for breakfast/dinner/lunch ) cant wait to go and tell the boys...let them sleep for now and i can enjoy my coffee!!!

So after we tuck into a hearty breakfast we join the ranks of the few thousand and we descend on the port of Vigo ( safe in the kknowedge that we r sure 2 encounter gangs of pickpockets known 2 b operatin in the area!!!  So with that comforting thought off we go..hopefully not to 2 'fill a few of their pockets or 2' !!)        

 Just to add insult to injury The good old British weather is still tailing us...yes drizzle in Vigo (unfortunatley not the Lemon Cake sort ) We are assured that rain in August in Vigo is very unusual....Oh well that makes me feel a lot better ( NOT).  But that is not gonna dampen my day!!!!  ( lol ) Oh no...i got a new Grandaughter  x

So Vigo was lovly...weather cleared up,  had a nice stroll up n down the narrow streets, re-established our land legs,  popped into some beautiful shops including C & A..( no longer found in tthe UK ) had a nice coffee at one of the quaint cafes....( and fortunatly did not bump into any pickpockets ...)
