A tragedy

Such a sad Story.....

I didnt think that today i would hear something so sad!!!!
It's just a normal bog standard Tuesday....u know the sort
* Alarm
* fall out of bed
* make the sandwiches
* shout til I'm horse ( neighhhh) to get the children n hubby up
* get em out...then make a start
* quick tidy up and thats just me ...dishwasher on, toilets flushed n bleach...
Hands washed shoes on, out the door!!!!
Yep its normal... and i wouldnt av it any other way
Costa it is then... what a way to start the day....delicious
So the young fella in front of me in the que is chattin away to the Barrister....obviously after some advice about the cakes!!! lol
This is my local and before too long the Barista has included me in the conversation too...
The young man is about 25, well spoken and very hansum....yes I'm allowed to say that, I have sons his age,  and as he walked away i noticed he had an prosthetic leg...
I suppose some people would think that was what i thought was sad...
and yes obviously it is sad....but you know the saddest thing was the conversation he was having with the Barista...
''No I havnt seen my family for a few years now''...
''I dont have any contact with them....i dont see any of them''
''My Mum?  no I havnt seen her either....we dont speak........''
who knows why.....there could be a million reasons why.....but so so sad......
I had my coffee and can truthfully say the conversation i had been witness to had an effect on me even i was surprised at...i have 4 boys....some who have families of their own....but I couldnt imagine my boys saying that, and i pray i will never give them cause,  but i can only imagine the pain i would feel....

Sweet Poison ????

So i made the decision that i was goin to try to be healthy......
Where to start????
lol  wishful thinking.

.

*  well i already go to the gym....so I will try to be
consistent and go a little more often...
*  I could give up wine....  who am i kidding....
*  Eat less.... so take things slowly????

I decided i would start with giving up sugar, i only take a small amount in my drinks so i thought one sweetner should do it...a lot of my frends use these, cant do u any harm...Right??
I am going to tell it as it is/was....this was 6 months ago....
After a few weeks I noticed a couple of things with my health that I wasnt happy with...these included
* being dizzy when getting up....to be honest at the time i wasnt too concerned....
* this happened again, and this time I was a little more concerned.....i was actually staggering like i had had a few too many glasses of Chardonnay...( i hadnt )
* One occasion I attempted to get out of bed in the early hours on waking and i was that dizzy i stumbled into the door...again i must stress that I wasnt particularly concerned ( yes stupid i Know )
* I started to notice when relaxing, i was very aware of my heartbeat...quite a strange feeling....I cant say i was scared but it was definitley bazzaar...
* this was something that happened more and more as time went on.....I also noticed it was also accompanied by a tightness in my chest, which made it harder to inhale deeply......

well by this stage I am beginning to think may be there is something not quite right!!!! especially with my family history of bronchitus and Asthma
* I was feeling nausea especially in the morning ( OMG PREGNANT!!! ) no, but i did start to think it could be menopausal due to my age..52
So afer looking up the menopause on line, and seeing that some of the symptoms could indeed be due to the menopause, i booked myself an appointment at the docs.
I had blood tests and i also had a heart trace..and everything came back normal, blood tests were showing i was not menopausal...WTF was goin on...
so may be i'm allergic to something????
3 or 4 months on and things have not improved , if anything the racy heart and tight chest  was getting worse ( lol sounds like a severe case of love sickness....lmao ) i am now gasping in between sentences,  just to b on the safe side, i have had an inhaler off my son....i know, not a good idea, but in an emergency!!!!!!

May b its coffee, not that i'm drinkin any more...but wot els can it b????
And there's more...
* Now my hair was falling out....its thin, and coming out in handfuls..I am seriously frightened to brush it!!!
So i am sitting in my daughters and she offers to make me a coffee....i decide to have tea....
''i think thats what making me anxious etc''....
No Mam, u've always drunk coffee....but i tell u what it could be those sweetners!!!!''....

To b honest, i didnt really take it seriously, but the cogs start turnin and with the internet at ye fingertips u just got to av a peek...( ?? )
It was shockin!!!

Aspartame is, By Far, The Most Dangerous Substance on ...

aspartame.mercola.com/

I am no expert so will just say that there are hundreds of sites out there both for and against consuming Aspartame....and you are free to read and make up your own mind....I have now been off sweetners for about 10 days...so very difficult to say wether any of my symptoms are due to them or not.....as i am still experiencing some of the symptoms,( i have been very honest and appreciate that my family have a history of chest problems, but this is not something that i personally suffer from so find it hard to beleve that this has just randomly come on me ) apparentley it takes a while to get out of the system, and i will certainly be doing a follow up on this.....
For me I am not willing to take the risk....
Do u know some one, frends/family who are experiencing some or al of these symptoms, and consume aspartame in one form or another,  It could be completly unconnected but may be it is connected.........

From good Stock part 1

A bit about the Gentleman that is my Dad.....

He was the eldest of 3 boys and a a sister who died in infancy.....1926 was the year that saw the arrival of this amazin man who i am proud to say was my Dad.....he was bought up in a quite strict family, to have manners and respect for his parents and any one who was older than himself.  He was quite a sight to behold by all accounts ( I was once told by a lady who knew him from going to the same dances, that he was the most hansome man in the dance, and that it wasnt only her who thought so.) His first wife was from an Irish imigrant family, as was his family a generation or 2 before.......which meant that she was as wild and fiery as he was, and a good match for his fiery temper, resulting in them fighting often, mostly between themselves!!!!   He was a good dancer, as was she, and they cut a very hansome sight on the floor.  When they were'nt on the dance floor they woud be seen roaring round on an Ariel motorcycle. At this time in his life, you really wouldnt want to get on the wrong side of my Dad, and it wasnt unheard of for people to cross over on to the other side of the road to avoid him...(please do not misunderstand me, he was not a bully, he was a sociable kind man, but would not put up with being S**t on or messed around.(this could of been after his time in the army, or may b he was just born like it,  who knows, but one thing for sure he would never do someone a bad turn if he couldnt do them agood one )

I wasnt around at the time of his first marriage so cannot speak from personal experience but people say his temper was a lot worse after he came back from serving in Burma during the 2nd world war as a Chindit ). Who Knows....only him!!!

But sadly his marriage ended in divorce, which was soon followed by his x leaving the area and taking my half sister and brother to live about 120 miles away, which meant he did not see them, and i dont suppose that did anything to improve his temper.  Something which i dont think he ever forgave his x for.

Sadly i did not know this strong confident man, by the time i was born he would be late in his 30's and had quietened down somewhat.. ( I did say somewhat !!! )

 Staffordshire Knot

So my poor old Dad was not very lucky in love.We ( my sister and I ) were the result of his second marriage, which was to my Mam.  Even though my Dad treated her like a princess, and worked 24/7 to give her everythin she needed...it was never going to be enough.....my wild Mam wanted to Party!!!! so this marriage didnt fare any better than his first, his marriage to my mam only lasted about 3/4 years!and i have to admit was all my Mams fault...bless her.)

Some of the things i remember about him was his cars...weird that even tho i was a child...probably under 10, i can remember he had a blue Wolsey and that it had pull down tables in the back of the front seats....i remember thinking it was really cool when he picked us up on a Sunday to take us out, he would turn up in this massive motor....funny thing they dont seem that big now....it made me feel like i was special

6

Another of my dads motors was a Zephyr 6...dont ask how i remember, cuz i dont know ,  but i also remember it was green... can see it now.....it was very long n very fancy......n i thought it was the bees knees
He would pick us up from my Mams on a Sunday morning n drop us back at 6 on a Suday t-time.
Quite often we'd call n pik up my Grannie  ( on my Dads side ) then go to the common....we had many happy days spent running round the common on sunny days.....lol and quite often rainy days too.....
where we'd run n play hide n seek...n other games while Grannie watched on, we alway had an ice-cream  ( i cant remember what we had, but i do remember my Grannie always had a 'shell' )
 happy dayz
Part 2 to come !!!!!!

Remember these....

Chances are if you are over 40 you will probably remember some, if not all of these....

In the days of these pictures....kids didnt have laptops, ipads, computers, ps3, moble phones etc. and the list goes on and on.......
Cus to b fare, kids didnt have the amount of money spent on them, that they do today...so that meant we had to make our own games.....a few 'marlies'' or  several feet of 'washin line'  and a ample helping of @imagination'..... well the world was your oyster

Many hours were spent skipping....and singing these types of rhymes over n over again...we didnt seem to get bored half as quick then......we loved it
'Marlies' now if u were good at this u could get a real good collection of these valuable little glass balls...u might even be lucky enough to get the rare ones...and if u did then u could swap these or even sell em for a ha'penny  and then it wud b straight to the ' suk shap ' ( sweet shop ) lol

Now if we were lucky enough to live by a proper park !!!  well we were in for a treat....these bars would give hours of fun and you know what...didnt  cost a penny or even a farthing ....and the roundabout...wow   round n round til u coudnt stop on cus u were that dizzy.....Great stuff

For me these was the best days of my life. (  beween the ages of about 5 and 10 )....i didnt have anything material to speak of....some days, i didnt av enough food in my belly.but i cant eva remember that bothering me too much...cuz i was your typical 'latch key ' kid....go out in the morning, usually with my younger siblings in tow....play all day...pop bak for what eva was in the pantry..(.door left on the latch ) and back out til it was dark.....Happy dayz..
.there wasnt many over weight kidz then either.kids were alot more active...kids were in my opinion healthier than nowadays...
( to be honest we werent always as safe as we should of been,  playing by canals, on open cast mining sites, and all without adult supervision, BUT HEY,  somebody was sure watching over us...a lot of times we survived by the skin of our teeh!!!!    .GARDIAN ANGELS i call em...
